World Axletree is a large-scale mod for Command & Conquer: Yuri's Revenge, set in an alternative universe separate from the classic C&C timeline. Here, wars are waged not only by nations but also by giant corporations capable of rivaling states in power and influence.
The mod features five unique factions: NACSF (North American Coalition Strike Force), CISUF (Commonwealth of Independent States United Forces), EFRRF (European Federation Rapid Response Force), FECO (Far Eastern Cooperation Organization), and RITC (Regenbogen International Training Center) — a private military corporation that trains commanders and soldiers and sells its services on the international market.
The campaign includes 14 missions divided into two chapters — "Prologue" and "Proxy War," with future expansion of the storyline expected. Each faction has its own technological direction and style of warfare, making gameplay fresh but demanding to master.
Gameplay remains true to the spirit of Red Alert 2, allowing direct action without strict dependence on the "rock-paper-scissors" system. However, overly simple tactics are quickly punished with heavy losses. At the same time, the mod borrows elements from Tiberian Sun, such as resource limitations and the use of warehouses.
The RITC faction stands out particularly, whose base is built around the flying Mothership, combining the functions of MCV, command unit, and aircraft carrier after upgrades. It constructs buildings through "Tesla Spires" that create an energy zone — if a tower or the ship itself is destroyed, nearby structures lose power. This makes the faction challenging but one of the most original and mechanically deep.
