Renegade X: Firestorm is a tactical shooter based on Tiberian Sun, where GDI and Nod fight for control over Tiberium zones. Players can expect large maps, vehicles from the Second Tiberium War, mobile bases, capture of key points, and dynamic battles with strategic elements.
At the core of the gameplay is territory capture and work with outposts: on large maps, teams fight for control over outposts, which unlock the ability to build and upgrade individual structures at captured points—players/teams can construct power plants, mines/refineries, production posts, and automatic defensive structures; the main (primary) base is partially formed automatically, and the destruction and upgrading of buildings affects the team's economy and capabilities. In the late stage of a match, the use of "superweapons" and summoning of powerful machines becomes available.
Maps are distinguished by their scale and variety: open fields, fortified bases, secret paths, and bypass routes allow for both direct attacks and covert operations. Teamwork is crucial—coordinating attacks, supporting allies, and controlling points directly affects the outcome of battle.
Combat involves infantry and vehicles from the Tiberian Sun era: tanks, armored and light vehicles, aircraft, as well as large "epic" units (for example, Mammoth Mk. II for GDI and large assault machines for Nod). Players control both individual classes and transport; capturing and holding points provides resources for purchasing vehicles and accelerating the charge of special attacks.
Renegade X: Firestorm was announced in 2020 and is still in development. The release date is unknown.
