The essence of FlatOut 2's steering wheel control problem lies in the fact that the wheel turning angle directly depends on the vehicle's speed. At low speeds, the wheel responds almost immediately – a small turn is enough for the wheels to react. But the higher the speed, the more the game limits the maximum turn angle, and to achieve the minimally necessary angle, you have to sharply turn the wheel all the way to the stop.
As a result, a sense of disproportion is created: at low speeds, the control seems too sensitive, while at high speeds it feels excessively "stiff" and delayed. This is precisely the key problem with FlatOut 2's steering wheel control scheme.
This mod eliminates this problem, making the steering wheel behavior more predictable and natural.
How to install a mod FlatOut 2 Steering Wheel Fix
Make sure you have the new version of the game that was released at least in summer 2024 from ZOOM Platform.
Extract the archive and move the flatout_2_steering_wheel_fix.bfs file to the game's root directory.
Open the filesystem file with any text editor and add a new line at the end with the text flatout_2_steering_wheel_fix.bfs
Save the file.
