Half-Life: Induction is a modification for Half-Life that serves as a prologue to the original game. You play as Gordon Freeman the day before the Black Mesa disaster and meet Kleiner, Eli Vance, Barney, and other familiar characters.

The events take place the day before Half‑Life, when Freeman begins his first day at Black Mesa. The player gets to know Eli Vance and Isaac Kleiner, as well as Arne Magnusson, Rosenberg, and Barney Calhoun.
You complete the Hazard Course, walk with Barney to Kleiner's lab, watch a test launch with Rosenberg, and board a tram - the story then smoothly transitions into the original Half-Life.
Overall, Half-Life: Induction is a well-crafted prologue that gives Half-Life fans a fresh perspective on the familiar world.
