Zombie Panic! is a multiplayer mod for Half-Life where you and your friends are survivors, and one of you becomes a zombie. Every time a survivor gets killed, they resurrect as a zombie and join the hunt for the rest. Ammunition is limited, so you can't just spray bullets everywhere - you have to conserve and work as a team.

The mod was memorable for its atmosphere - dark levels, a sense of claustrophobia, and the constant expectation of an attack from around the corner. For some, this created real excitement and fear, while others called the mod one of the most fun and scary things that came out for Half-Life. Even though a Source version appeared later, many believe that the classic version plays better and captures the right spirit.

Finding live servers is difficult now, but in its time this was one of the brightest multiplayer mods. And even today, for some it remains better than any subsequent versions - more dynamic, tense, and atmospheric.
