Portal: Prelude RTX-Less is an unofficial addon for Portal: Prelude that brings all improvements from the RTX version (new voice acting, updated maps and levels) to the standard version without ray tracing. It also fixes bugs and adds QoL improvements, allowing for a comfortable experience without powerful hardware.

The main goal of the project is to make Portal: Prelude RTX accessible to players without modern hardware. The addon fully preserves changes from the RTX version: new professional voice acting, reworked maps, updated levels, as well as additional modes like advanced and challenge.
At the same time, RTX-Less uses original textures and assets, keeping the visuals close to the classic 2008 version while making the experience feel noticeably fresher. It also fixes bugs from the original mod, improves usability, and refines the technical side of the maps.
As a result, the addon feels like a more comfortable and modern version of Portal: Prelude, although the puzzle design may still feel outdated by modern standards.
Portal: Prelude RTX-Less is one of the best ways to experience this mod today - especially for those who cannot run the RTX version but still want all the updated content.
How to install an addon Portal: Prelude RTX-Less
Make sure you have installed the Portal Prelude mod
Rename the "custom" folder to "resource" and move it вместе with the "gameinfo.txt" file into the "portal prelude" folder, which is located inside the "sourcemods" folder
