Half-Life: Sleep-Deprived is a story-driven mod for Half-Life built on the Featureful engine, where you take on the role of junior research associate Valerie Wells, who finds herself at the center of the Black Mesa disaster during the resonance cascade.
Half-Life: Sleep-Deprived offers a fresh perspective on the Black Mesa disaster, featuring expanded locations, updated maps, and new content. You will need to survive, fight, and find a way out of the complex — all while searching for the protagonist's husband.
The mod focuses on reworking and expanding levels — from dormitories to research zones — and adds entirely new locations. Planned chapters include Earth, Xen, and potentially areas beyond Black Mesa, such as freight zones, forested territories, and possibly urban episodes, though some of these ideas are still in the concept stage.
Development is led by a small team, and the mod is currently in early development. A demo featuring introductory levels, a tutorial, and weapon testing areas is planned for the future. The release date is unknown.
