Half-Life: The Core — one of the most anticipated mods for Half-Life with impressive level detail that will give a new perspective on the disaster. It combines intense action, thoughtful puzzles and a story unfolding in completely new corners of the Black Mesa complex.
In the depths of the Black Mesa research complex, a strange hum sounds. It wasn't loud, but given the constant silence of the underground, it couldn't go unnoticed.
There is always the right person who finds themselves in the wrong place and is forced to act according to circumstances. One such person is Maurice Andrews, an ordinary engineer who was unlucky enough to be at his workplace during the resonance cascade that changed everything around. Even being an engineer, he is unable to fully comprehend the scale of what happened, but one thing is clear to him: he needs to get to the surface as quickly as possible.
However, this won't be easy, even with support from other survivors met along the way, nothing could prepare him for the trials ahead, for the presence of cruel military and creatures whose existence they were sent to hide...
Half-Life: The Core has been in development since at least 2008, but unlike many other mods that never saw the light of day during this time, it regularly releases development logs about once a year, and in 2025 the mod reached the testing stage, which gives hope for an upcoming release.
