VTMB Prelude is a major story mod for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, set before the events of the original game. The player becomes entangled in a dark conflict between hunters and vampires, exploring new locations and encountering characters who stand at the core of the Bloodlines story.

The story unfolds long before the awakening of Los Angeles neonates and offers a glimpse into the Masquerade world from a different perspective—through the eyes of mortals waging their own war against the creatures of the night.
The protagonist of the first chapter is a hunter from the Society of Leopold, a religious organization dedicated to fighting vampires. Players will undertake dangerous missions, explore new territories, and face enemies whose power far exceeds human capabilities. Later, the narrative shifts to the vampire side, revealing how mutual fears, betrayal, and belief in one's own righteousness shape the tragic events preceding the original Bloodlines story.
The mod features fully reworked levels, new dialogues, characters, and cutscenes. The atmosphere is enhanced by new musical accompaniment and visual effects. Thanks to this, VTMB Prelude not only enriches the lore of the universe but also feels like a standalone game, unveiling the hidden sides of the conflict between hunters and vampires.
