VorpalFix primarily focuses on fixing technical issues in the 2011 American McGee's Alice remaster and improving overall game stability. The patch restores broken sound effects, including weapon sounds and the Cheshire Cat summon, eliminates the false disk full message on modern drives, and fixes crashes related to non-standard screen resolutions. Missing particle effects have been restored, menu animations corrected, and various visual interface bugs that appeared at high resolutions and high frame rates have been fixed. Special attention has been paid to proper game operation on Linux via Proton and correct image scaling on 4K monitors.

Fixed an issue that prevented some of the remaster's improved textures from loading
The patch significantly improves widescreen support: menus, cutscenes, and UI elements are no longer distorted and maintain the correct aspect ratio at any resolution. Additionally, errors in the remaster's texture archive have been fixed, which caused some character models, including the Cheshire Cat, Card Guards, and Mock Turtle, to display incorrectly.

The image is no longer stretched, it has the correct aspect ratio
VorpalFix also expands launch and configuration options. The remaster can now run standalone, without Alice: Madness Returns installed, and no longer forces its launch on exit. A special menu has been added for editing patch parameters, the ability to switch between original and remastered models, the classic splash screen has been restored, and original intro cutscenes. Players can choose the interface language, re-enable the developer console (F2 key), and set a custom save path (CustomSavePath in VorpalFix.ini).

In gameplay, the patch improves controls and responsiveness. Additional controller combinations have been added allowing quick loading (right stick press + "A"), saving (right stick press + "B"), and weapon switching, camera work has been improved, and raw mouse input has been implemented, bypassing Windows sensitivity and acceleration for more precise control. The HUD can be positioned in console version style, cinematic bars can be disabled, and correct controller icons appear in menus. Borderless fullscreen mode is also available with VSync and frame rate limit support.

Ability to switch between remaster and original textures
Finally, VorpalFix includes graphical improvements: automatic field of view correction for widescreen displays, quality texture filtering, and LOD bias disable.

LOD bias disabled, thanks to this models don't lose quality at distance
