Dune II - The Maker is a fan-made remake of the classic strategy game Dune II: The Building of a Dynasty, recreated from scratch on a modern engine with improved graphics, interface, balance, and mod support.

The game recreates the classic mechanics of base building and army management for the three Great Houses — Atreides, Harkonnen, and Ordos, preserving key gameplay elements while making control more convenient thanks to an updated interface and multi-unit selection. It supports higher resolution, improved graphics and sound, as well as mod support for creating custom scenarios and campaigns. The game also features a new game mode familiar from newer games in the genre — Skirmish.
Judging by the inactive option, multiplayer is planned to be added to the game in the future, but it is currently unavailable.
Overall, Dune II - The Maker is an excellent fan remake that remains true to the atmosphere of the original, offering series fans a chance to relive the iconic battles for control over the planet Arrakis in a modern form.
