REBELLION: Brutalized - an adaptation of the Rebellion mod for Brutal Half-Life. The game features some weapons and items from Brutal Half-Life, as well as soldiers armed with M4A1, M249, and sniper rifles.

Known issues:

  • Sometimes doors may get stuck; to fix this, just place a corpse near the door. This is a bug from the original Half-Life that worsened in Brutal Half-Life.

  • Gun turrets on maps fmip20 and fmip21 had to be removed because they caused crashes for some reason. Several changes were made to compensate for this.

  • The starting health amount on the second map can be random because explosion damage in BHL is also random, so the author could not fix this.

How to install an addon REBELLION: Brutalized

  1. Make sure you have the 25th Anniversary version of the game.

  2. Place the contents of the archive into the mod folder, which should be located in the root directory of the game.

  3. Launch the game, go to the Change game menu, and select the mod.

  4. To start playing the new campaign, use the console:

    • To open the console, press ~

    • Enter skill x + a number from 1 to 3. The numbers indicate difficulty. For example, you can enter: skill x 2. Press Enter.

    • Enter map mip or map smip if you want to skip the long intro dialogues. Press Enter, and the campaign should start.

  5. Play!

To avoid entering the "Change game" menu every time you launch the game, you can:

  1. Open the properties of hl.exe, and in the Target field (for example: D:\Games\Half-Life\hl.exe) add a space and append -game followed by the name of the mod folder in the root directory of the game. It should look like this: D:\Games\Half-Life\hl.exe -game bhl_v3

  2. Apply the changes.

  3. Launch the mod using this shortcut.
