Half-Life Decay is an updated version of the mod that ports the cooperative expansion Half-Life: Decay, originally released only on PlayStation 2, to PC. It fixes bugs and improves visual and sound effects. The mod allows you to play through the entire campaign in its original form, solo or in co-op.

Half-Life Decay brings the cult cooperative expansion, originally exclusive to PlayStation 2, to PC. The mod preserves all ten original missions and the story unfolding parallel to the events of Half-Life. Players once again take on the roles of scientists Gina Cross and Colette Green, participating in Black Mesa’s research on the day of the disaster.
The mod supports both cooperative play and single-player mode, maintaining the original gameplay and atmosphere. All visual elements, models, and levels are adapted for PC, while the spirit of classic Half-Life is fully preserved.
Half-Life Decay is the best way to experience the forgotten expansion on modern hardware.
How to install a mod Half-Life: Decay
Unpack the archive and move the "decay" folder to the game's root directory.
(Optional) If you want to localize the mod into one of the available languages, move the contents of the chosen localization folder into the mod folder.
Launch the game, go to the "Change game" menu, and select the mod.
For the Steam version: close Steam and restart it. The mod will appear in your games list.
(Optional) If you’re playing the 25th Anniversary update or one of the later Legacy versions and want to enable classic models, open the settings and check "Enable Classic Models" or "Enable Original Models".
(Optional) If you’re playing the WON version or one of the earlier Legacy versions (which don’t have the model switching option), simply copy all contents of the "decay_hd" folder into the "decay" folder, overwriting files (this is not a mistake - "decay_hd" contains the classic HL models).
Enjoy the game!
