The events of Half-Life: Field Intensity take place parallel to the original Half-Life. The player takes on the role of a soldier from the HECU unit sent to the Black Mesa research facility after the resonance cascade.

The mod includes the full arsenal of weapons from the original game and its expansions, adds new monsters, and provides full voice acting for new characters. It skillfully combines intense combat sequences with calmer exploration moments, where the player’s curiosity is rewarded with extra loot or interesting scripted events. Thanks to the attention to detail, every aspect of the game feels polished, making the mod not just another fan project, but a full-fledged Half-Life expansion.

Key features:

  • 34 maps and around 5–10 hours of gameplay

  • Story runs parallel to the original Half-Life, focusing on military actions

  • Support for Low Definition models (classic style) and optional High Definition

  • Updated HUD with a unique color scheme (default — turquoise)

  • Improved grenade physics and charge handling

  • Ability to use a flashlight and NVG while reloading

  • Expanded maps, including new areas in the Gamma complex
