The author, who already had successful experience with another project — Half-Life Blue Shift: MMod, plans to release 12 chapters. The mod uses weapons from Opposing Force, as well as reuses some locations from the original game and some cut elements from Decay.

Chapters:

  • Chapter 0: Work Day

  • Chapter 1: Drill Alarm

  • Chapter 2: Search For Freedom

  • Chapter 3: Government Coverup (In development)

  • Chapter 4: Transit Hub (In development)

In Half-Life: Static Interference, the quality of level design is uneven: some locations look good and make a pleasant impression, while others seem cramped and empty. Nevertheless, navigation through the levels is quite easy, and the gameplay combines a good balance of puzzles and frequent but well-balanced combat.

How to install a mod Half-Life: Static Interference

  1. Extract the STAT-DEMO folder and place it into the root directory of the game.

  2. Launch the game, go to the Change game menu, and select the mod.

To avoid entering the "Change game" menu every time you start the mod, you can:

Option 1: Launch via shortcut

  1. Go to the properties of hl.exe and in the Target field (for example: "D:\Games\Half-Life\hl.exe") add a space and then write -game followed by the name of the mod folder in the game root directory. It should look like this: "D:\Games\Half-Life\hl.exe" -game mod_folder_name

  2. Apply the changes.

  3. Launch the mod using this shortcut.

Option 2: Launch via Steam

  1. Open Steam, click on the "Games" menu > "Add a Non-Steam Game".

  2. Browse to the game folder and select hl.exe.

  3. A shortcut will appear in your library.

  4. Right-click on it, select Properties, and in the "Launch Options" field write the full path to hl.exe (for example: "D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\hl.exe") and add -game plus the mod folder name after a space. It should look like this: "D:\Games\Half-Life\hl.exe" -game mod_folder
