Command & Conquer: Yuri's Revenge is the official expansion to the cult classic strategy game Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2, released in 2001. The expansion extends the Red Alert universe by adding a new faction — Yuri's army, possessing unique psychic abilities, along with a number of new units, technologies, and maps. Gameplay becomes more diverse: Yuri's psychic control requires players not only to use classic tactics but also to anticipate enemy actions.
The expansion introduces a new campaign for Yuri that reveals the storyline of his attempts to conquer the world through mind control. Visual and sound effects remain recognizable from Red Alert 2, while the innovations make the game more dynamic and intense.
It is this expanded version of Red Alert 2 that served as the foundation for numerous community mods.
