Aliens: Eradication TC transforms the fast-paced retro shooter into a slow, tense survival horror inspired by the classic PS1 console game Alien Trilogy and the best entries in the genre. The action takes place in a half-ruined research complex on the sinister planetary colony LV-426, right after a large-scale breach of xenomorph containment.
Four faces of survival
The mod's main feature is that your choice of character completely changes the balance of power, starting gear, level objectives, and even the evacuation points.
Colonist
Gameplay features: Hardcore mode. Starts without armor and with only a pistol. Extremely vulnerable to acid and facehuggers. Can cooperate with other survivors and lure enemies into traps (electricity, fire).
Main goal: Escape the complex and find survivors.
Mercenary
Gameplay features: A balanced class relying on firepower and a classic arsenal (shotgun, assault rifle). Requires careful ammo management.
Main goal: Steal valuable research data and escape.
Weyland-Yutani Operative
Gameplay features: An aggressive class. Protected from facehuggers by a helmet. Starts with a flamethrower and can deploy mobile support drones. Will face armed human opposition.
Main goal: Eliminate all witnesses (including humans) and aliens.
Combat Synth
Gameplay features: A slow but heavily armored tank. Immune to facehuggers, doesn't need to breathe underwater, and takes no damage from toxic floors. Can only heal at repair stations. Starts with a powerful smartgun.
Main goal: Restore control over the colony's generators.
Atmosphere, level design, and gameplay
The story campaign consists of eight or nine non-linear maps that will unnerve even horror veterans. The dark corridors of LV-426, with faulty wiring, flickering lights, and terrifying shadows, are designed to make you constantly feel like a cornered prey.
The main source of tension here is the motion tracker. It's recreated with unsettling accuracy: the radar regularly gives false readings, reacting to facehuggers trapped in jars, turning any return trip through an already cleared corridor into a severe trial for your nerves.
The xenomorphs themselves are incredibly fast and intelligent opponents. They flank you, attack in groups, and can even climb the walls of deep shafts, so there's no waiting it out from above. To defend yourself, you'll need to use every tool available: setting up portable automatic turrets, blowing up barrels, activating traps, or even climbing into the iconic Power Loader exoskeleton. The mod is fully universal — it can be run on top of virtually any standard Doom 2 maps, and the game will automatically fill them with the grim atmosphere and monsters of the Alien universe.
