Doom II: Hell on Earth is the direct sequel to the cult first-person shooter released in 1994 by id Software. The game expands the formula of the original Doom, adding new levels, enemies, weapons, and more large-scale design, while preserving the same dynamics, style, and structure.

Now the battles shift from the Martian base to Earth, overrun by hordes of demons. The player once again picks up classic weapons, including the new super shotgun, and fights through 30 levels filled with traps, secrets, and intense combat. New iconic enemies appear, such as the Arch-vile, Mancubus, and the Icon of Sin.

Doom II does not revolutionize the mechanics, but significantly expands the scale. Levels are more open, architecture is more complex, and the battles are more intense. This is also where the popularity of WAD files begins to grow widely, as the community actively creates custom maps, campaigns, and compilations.

Today, Doom II holds a central place in the modding scene. Thanks to backward compatibility with the first game's mods and an open engine, the game inspires thousands of projects – from graphical improvements and reworked campaigns to total conversions and ports to modern platforms. It remains a foundation for dozens of fan-made builds and is used as a platform for modding.

Doom II: Hell on Earth remains a living legend that not only continues the story, but also builds an entire culture of user-generated content.
