BLYAT BRUTAL

BLYAT BRUTAL is a large-scale project that has outgrown the status of an ordinary total conversion and feels like a full-fledged standalone game. The technical foundation of the mod is UZDoom.

The plot is based on a classic but uncompromising story of revenge. You'll take on the role of judge, jury, and executioner all in one. The journey begins in an ordinary garage but quickly leads out onto the grim streets and deep alleys of Russian cities. In these surroundings, no laws apply, and any conflicts and disputes are settled solely through strength and street smarts. Armed with a crowbar and an MP40 slung over his back, the protagonist sets out to deliver cold justice, where every step is calculated and the main goal is to make his tormentors pay their dues.

The mod immerses you in the aesthetic of Russian criminal outskirts, thickly mixed with black humor, absurdity, and nostalgia for the VHS era:

• The atmosphere of lawlessness is underscored by profanity-laden voice acting in the Fargus dubbing style, while the dynamic firefights play out to gritty hardbass and tracks by MC Poha.

• Health here is restored not with standard medkits but with beer, energy drinks, and cigarettes. The smoking mechanic is worked out with irony: a deep drag drains health, measured smoking restores it, and trying to light a second cigarette in a row will trigger a text insult from the game.

• The mod constantly mocks you. Want to pick the easiest difficulty level? That's not manly. Get ready to read an insult directed at you. Feeling mischievous? A can of spray paint lets you leave indecent graffiti on the walls. Have a lot of thoughts about someone or something but can't put them into words? Use your middle finger.

The gameplay combines the mechanics of a classic meaty shooter and unconventional interactive finds. In the alleyways you can meet various NPCs: for example, if you give money to a local schoolboy drug dealer, he will gladly share alcohol or cigarettes in return. If you are attentive, you will find Easter eggs.

Despite the abundance of swearing, trash, and local memes (or perhaps thanks to them), BLYAT BRUTAL is a tightly built, high-energy boomer shooter. A revenge story set against the backdrop of Russian courtyards, where matters are settled with a crowbar and an MP40 in hand, draws you in with a solid combat system and a harsh street atmosphere.
