Lambda‑Strike brings the atmosphere of a multiplayer shooter into Doom. Weapons are recreated with high detail, including realistic reloads and shooting physics.
Mod features:
Weapons: Includes all pistols, SMGs, shotguns, and other weapons from Counter-Strike 1.6 and CS: Condition Zero. Also features a knife, fragmentation grenades, and two cut weapons from CS 1.6.
Mechanics: Weapons are ported with original mechanics and animations preserved. The arsenal contains all pistols, SMGs, shotguns, and more, including a knife and frag grenades. Bonuses and runes from CS 1.6 are included, such as the "Backpack Rune," which doubles magazine size and replenishes reserve ammo for the current weapon.
Graphics: Medkit and ammo backpack models, as well as explosion and flashbang sounds, are taken from the Doom Lambda mod inspired by the arsenal of the original Half-Life and Opposing Force.
Compatibility: The mod works with GZDoom 4.11.3 and newer, LZDoom 3.88b, and is compatible with WADs, megawads (not all), monster packs, HUDs, and soundtracks.
Note: To see the CS 1.6-style HUD in-game, go to GZDoom settings → Scaling Options → Screen size and set it to 12.
How to install a mod Lambda-Strike
Download the GZDoom engine.
Place the game file doom2.wad into the engine folder.
Place the file Lambda-Strike_Code.pk3 and Lambda-Strike_Resources.pk3 into the engine folder.
Drag the Lambda-Strike_Code.pk3 file onto the gzdoom.exe shortcut.
Play!
To launch the game from a shortcut, you can use a .bat file.
Create a new text document: Right-click in the folder where GZDoom and your mods are located, select "New" -> "Text Document".
Rename the file: Name it, for example,
Doom_Launcher.bat. Make sure you change the extension from.txtto.bat. If you don't see file extensions, you might need to enable "File name extensions" in Windows File Explorer settings.Edit the BAT file: Right-click on the created
Doom_Launcher.batfile and select "Edit". Notepad (or another text editing program) will open.Enter the content: Insert the following line, adapting the names to your file names:
gzdoom -file doom2.wad -file "Name your file"Done.
In the future, you can use this .bat file to add new mods, in addition to those you already have, simply by appending them with a space in the format -file "Mod Name". The main thing is to add them after the .wad file. The more important a mod is, for example, a map or a global modification, the closer it should be to the .wad file; some mods are incompatible with each other.
