Each map is a self-contained "location story", often inspired by real places and architecture. The urban levels are packed with detail — advertisements, streets, recognizable buildings, and the lively atmosphere of bustling metropolises. The campaign also features more unusual or expansive spaces: vast open areas, industrial complexes, alien structures, and even abstract conceptual arenas.

The gameplay is varied: from classic shootouts to large non-linear levels with exploration and jetpack use for alternate routes. The mod introduces new enemy variants with updated abilities, adding variety to combat, though at times it also amplifies the on-screen chaos.

One of Blast Radius's strengths is its visual work — despite using standard Build Engine assets, the levels feel fresh thanks to smart use of color and architecture. However, the campaign structure is not always consistent: the opening sections are well-balanced and engaging, but the final stretch becomes more drawn-out and overloaded, with issues of navigation and pacing.

Overall, Blast Radius is a project impressive in both scale and ambition that demonstrates the author's enormous potential, combining striking visual set pieces, a globe-trotting adventure, and the classic spirit of Duke Nukem 3D — while not avoiding issues with rhythm and campaign structure.
