FlatOut 1 Chloe Collection is an impressive mod, especially considering it was created for a 2004 game that remained almost without modifications for many years, let alone large and high-quality ones. This is the second similar mod from this author after FlatOut UC Chloe Collection for FlatOut Ultimate Carnage.

The first thing that catches the eye is the new career mode, which has become similar to the career from FlatOut 2, with a cup system and finals for each car class. An "Arcade Mode" from Ultimate Carnage was also added with three types of races, one of which was cut by developers before the game's release. The Time Trial mode has also been modernized - now it allows not only competing with the ghost of your best result, but also more flexibly configuring the race:

  • Choose nitro multiplier from 0x to infinite; remove objects on the track;

  • Choose car upgrade level from 0% to 100%;

  • Choose to count either best lap time or best time for completing three laps;

  • And they even give us the ability to drive in reverse, which practically doubles the number of available tracks in the game, because when driving in reverse, tracks feel almost like new ones.

Features

  • A brand new career mode based on FlatOut 2 with a cup system, finals for each class and proper progression

  • A dynamic car list system that allows cars to be added or removed without having to change LUA scripts

  • A new achievement system, with many brand new achievements

  • A new animated loading screen based on beta assets

  • A new handling mode, Hardcore, which removes the arcadey handling elements and leaves you with more of a simcade feel

  • A new music player written from the ground up, allowing multiple songs to play per race and more than one menu song

  • A player list visible in-game that shows everyone's position

  • An option to move the vehicle camera higher up

  • Added a new arcade mode with 21 unique events

  • Added a new gamemode, Arcade Race, a recreation of Ultimate Carnage's Carnage Race mode

  • Added a new gamemode, Demolition, a reimagining of the cut Smashy Smash gamemode

  • Added a new gamemode, Frag Derby, a recreation of Ultimate Carnage's Deathmatch Derby mode

  • Added a new gamemode, Wrecking Derby, a recreation of FlatOut 2's gamemode of the same name

  • AI opponents now have proper upgrades like in FlatOut 2

  • All cars and tracks unlocked by default for Single Race mode

  • Borderless windowed mode with seamless alt-tabbing that doesn't crash the game

  • Completely rewrote the car performance, car stats and general car data system, deprecating the equipment folder, removing all leftovers and converting the data to a more readable format

  • Handling damage in the Options menu, allowing you to either disable it entirely or reduce it by only removing the bouncy suspension

  • Moved The Ever Lasting from Central Supply Chain to the menu soundtrack

  • Moved the transmission selection to the Options menu, allowing you to change it at any time

  • New BFS loading system with filesystem and patch files that look more like FlatOut 2's

  • Overhauled the game's texture loading system, adding support for uncompressed ARGB8888 DDS files

  • Removed the limit on the maximum amount of car models

  • Removed the limit on the maximum amount of car tire models, each car now loads its tires from the car's folder

  • Reworked a lot of the menu UI to display more information in a more efficient way

  • Reworked the derby system, adding consistent damage and a contact timer

  • Seamless controller support, allowing you to swap between keyboard and controller for driving and menus at any time
