Installation Instructions mod Extended High Definition Pack

For the main EHD Pack files, open this archive and unpack the files to your Half-Life games directory

(it must be "C:\Sierra\Half-Life\" for WON and "C:\...\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life" for Steam).

Then, you may need to customize your HD Pack. Custom models can be found in "[Extra]" and sorted by order.

This means if you unpacked the files from a previous folder, you need to unpack the next ones from the first subfolder

to the last, or the pack will be messed up.

If you want to install classic HL1 weapons instead of Gearbox's Beretta, M16 and SPAS-12, you need to do the following

steps:

  • 1. Open the folder "Custom main models".

  • 2. Open the "1 - Weapons" section.

  • 2. Go to folder "1 - RedSlug's MP5 & Glock" and replace the default files by ones in this folder.

  • 3. Go to folder "2 - Stockless SPAS-12" -> "2 - With RedSlug's MP5" and do the same thing.

Now you have the "true" weapons in your character's hands, as well as the NPCs ;)

The next section called "2 - Early HD models (Restored)" is for ones who prefer the "initial" HD models for some NPCs

(with minor improvements). Of course, you can skip the "Weapons" section and start from this one, but if you did

change the weapons, there's "Optional" subfolder(s) for you.

NOTE: This section doesn't contain the original HD HECU models by Gearbox, because all of them were improved or re-done by XRGM to have the same design and animations. This is one of the reasons why Extended HD Pack exists.

If you want NPCs not to have the classic weapons only, but a similar design to their vanilla counterparts,

go into "3 - Classic NPCs" section and unpack one or all subfolders from there. This also can be skipped if

you don't need it though.

The last section - "4 - Cut NPC restorations (Skins only)" - shouldn't have been there, but the author knows there are people who would like to see unused variants of some NPCs. This section contains replacements only for secondary character models. All models come with different skin variants according to the previous sections that were unpacked or skipped.

IMPORTANT! (For Xash3D users)

  1. If you use Xash3D (for PC) or Xash3D FWGS (for Android or Linux) engine, unpack the files into the engine's folder (for example, "D:\Games\Xash3D" on PC or "storage/sdcard0/xash" on Android).

  2. Xash3D doesn't allow to toggle between HD and LD models, so you should overwrite all files from folders in this archive (as an example - from "valve_hd" to "valve"). Before overwriting, don't forget to copy the original files for all three games, if you want to uninstall this package for some reason. If you still want HD Pack folders to be separate but fully playable, open "[XASH3D] Liblists + custom icons.zip" and unpack it. For more information, read "liblist_readme.txt" in this archive.
