Half-Life: Invasion is a Half-Life mod that continues the story immediately after the events of Half-Life. The player finds themselves in the secret Black Mesa laboratory, saved by a space probe, and faces an invasion of well-prepared soldiers. You will explore new areas of the laboratory, gradually uncovering government schemes and secrets.

Half-Life: Invasion is a new campaign that offers a fresh perspective on the Half-Life world, providing dynamic gameplay, original locations, and an extensive 44-map campaign divided into five thematic chapters. The game features 16 modern weapon types, 12 of which are completely new and impressive (such as an infrared pistol and flamethrower, plus cluster grenades that create multiple small explosions).
The new armor showcases an elaborate damage system: each body zone reacts separately, and you can strategically use health kits and batteries, saving them for critical moments.
The interiors and locations are strikingly diverse: from wide open areas to ominous ventilation shafts with flashlights, dark assassin ambushes, and truly massive maps that create an atmosphere unlike the original.
Enemies are seriously prepared — they react very quickly, and their shooting accuracy is stunning. Sniper officers and soldiers with rocket launchers inspire real fear; battles often present challenges that make survival no easy task.
Among unique elements are a controllable tank with rotating turret, helicopters, player-controlled cameras for espionage, and puzzles like nine-button panels that add something new to the classic Half-Life formula.
Dialogues are accompanied by subtitles in four languages: French, English, Spanish, and German, emphasizing the international nature of the project.
However, the difficulty presents a serious challenge: levels often prove too hardcore, with excessive enemy accuracy, difficult passages, and unbalanced battles with helicopters and bosses — making the playthrough feel unfairly difficult.
Nevertheless, meticulously crafted maps filled with small visual details, deep atmosphere, unconventional approaches to weapons and damage systems — all create the feeling of a complete, ambitious project where every scene is filled with meaning and creativity.
