The Last Goodbye — A large-scale and atmospheric total conversion for Half-Life, where the player explores dangerous districts of the city of Prava, encountering colorful villains, from the cunning Mercutio to the formidable yet stylish crime boss Franz Jaeger, as well as various giant monsters.
The game's events unfold in the grim gothic metropolis of Prava. Mercenary assassin Lucille, known in the criminal world as Banshee, receives a contract from mysterious businessman Arc McLean. Her target becomes Bullseye — the city's most fearsome gangster. Throughout her journey through the criminal underworld, she encounters numerous allies and enemies, and the path is full of unexpected events, intrigues, and dangerous adventures.
Features
A corridor shooter focused on story, but with great attention to world exploration and environmental interaction. Players will need to conserve ammunition and watch their surroundings, as weapons are more powerful, and there's no HEV suit-like protection — only a coat and suit. Enemy encounters are more tense and dangerous.
The Last Goodbye uses the unique Retrinity engine, which allows for creating new weather effects, water simulation, dynamic fire, and thick dark fog for night scenes.
The game features an advanced environmental interaction system: objects and environmental effects actively participate in combat — for example, steam emissions obscure vision, fire extinguishers can be shot to release pressurized CO2 streams, and open flames are dangerous for everyone.
TLG's story is told through pre-rendered cutscenes, providing more emotional expressiveness than Half-Life's standard scripting system.
The developers plan to release the mod by acts. There will be 3 acts total. The first act is scheduled to release in fall 2025.
