HoMM3 ERA 3 (WoG) is a modern and significantly improved mod platform for Heroes of Might and Magic III, developing the ideas of the legendary fan project Wake of Gods. ERA is created by a different development team and represents a modular system designed for stable gameplay, expanded capabilities, and convenient creation of modifications based on WoG.
ERA preserves the best parts of the classic mod while eliminating its numerous limitations and bugs. The platform includes an updated engine with fixed bugs, improved compatibility, and advanced tools for mod developers. Thanks to its flexible architecture, users can enable and disable individual components, customize the game to their preferences, and connect additional mods through the built-in manager.
The project adds support for XXL maps, allowing the creation of huge scenarios and large-scale adventures. Updated graphics, improved interface, new landscape types, refined animations, and extended UI settings make the game noticeably more modern visually and more convenient to control.
ERA is known for its powerful ERSM event and scripting system, which allows modders to add new features without interfering with the game's core code. The platform also includes an improved map editor with extended capabilities, making ERA one of the best choices for creating scenarios, campaigns, and fan projects, of which there are already many, such as ERA 3 HD Edition, The Succession Wars, New Year's HD Edition, S.T.A.L.K.E.R mod, and others.
Additionally, ERA is compatible with the HD mod, supports network play (when using the launcher), allows the use of popular community modifications, improves stability, and provides broad technical capabilities that are impossible to obtain in classic WoG or the original Heroes III version.
In summary, HoMM3 ERA 3 is an updated, stable, and flexible platform that combines improved WoG, modern modding tools, and player conveniences, transforming Heroes III into a deeper, more expansive, and modular game.
