Heroes IV Equilibris

Thanks to quality balance changes, Equilibris has become a kind of standard for playing Heroes of Might and Magic IV and is often used by other, newer mods as a foundation for their own developments. It makes ogre mages more useful and grants some creatures new abilities — for example, stone elementals gain the ability to teleport short distances, which increases their effectiveness on difficult and slow terrain. Tactical options in battles are notably expanded, as bonuses now scale with hero level.

It was planned that the mod would include 5 new campaigns and maps, but these plans were not destined to come true, as development was discontinued in the mid-2000s at version 3.55 alpha. However, in 2021, beta version 3.6 unexpectedly released — this is an HD version that supports screen resolutions of 1366x768, 1600x900, and 1920x1080.
