C&C Power Play is a mod for Generals Zero Hour that completely changes the game — it looks different, replaces all factions and units with unique ones, and introduces a new gameplay mode unusual for the game, where you must balance between improving infrastructure to produce a powerful army in the future and building an army right now.

In C&C Power Play, your main task is simple: assemble your own army and defeat opponents, rather than focusing on base building. Each unit has unique characteristics and abilities that, when used skillfully, can turn the tide of battle and lead you to a long-awaited victory.
You can choose one of five factions:
Solisian — maneuverable and high-rate-of-fire units, but with light armor and high cost.
Vulkanic — sturdy and powerful, however slow and expensive.
Fulguran — long-range and durable units, but with weak damage and low production speed.
Lamini — fast and cheap units for spam, which are, however, fragile and deal little damage.
Infernal — has units with fire weapons and long range, however they have weak defense, slow production, and risk of self-damage from their own fire.

You start the game with one building and face a dilemma: quickly produce several basic machines or invest in internal infrastructure to later produce more powerful troops. As you develop, new tech levels unlock, but you can't rely solely on top-tier units — each has its own roles and weaknesses, and sometimes even the simplest machines can prove more useful than advanced counterparts.
Funds come at a fixed rate, but one command center is clearly not enough. You can increase income in three ways: by destroying enemies, capturing warehouses and resources, or building more war factories.
