Nox is an isometric action/RPG released in 2000 by Westwood Studios, best known for the Command & Conquer series. Despite its visual resemblance to Diablo, Nox offered unique mechanics, fast-paced gameplay, and three different story campaigns depending on the chosen class: Warrior, Conjurer, and Wizard.
The combat system in Nox was exceptionally lively for its time - with active aiming, precision-based spells, traps, and object physics. Multiplayer was especially notable, featuring PvP modes, arenas, and the ability to create custom maps using Nox Editor, the built-in level editor.
Although the modding scene for Nox was never large, it still exists. Fans continue to create new story campaigns and even reconstruct the game engine.
Today, Nox is considered a "forgotten classic", but for a small group of dedicated old-school RPG fans, it has never been - and never will be - forgotten.
