Zero Hour Reborn Omega is a large-scale overhaul mod for Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour that preserves the original spirit of the game while expanding and improving nearly every aspect of it, drawing on the best content from classic mods: Zero Hour Reborn, Contra 008, ShockWave, and Advanced AI.

The mod restores what was missing from Zero Hour: the original Generals campaigns, the startup map, loading screens, pause menu, and intro videos. The intro videos from Generals and Zero Hour now alternate randomly, creating a pleasant nostalgic atmosphere.

Every faction has received new units, upgrades, and mechanics. Key new content:

  • USA: Marines, aircraft carriers, battleships, special forces squads.

  • Superweapon General: ICBM Silo, Tomahawk Storm, assault Crusaders.

  • Laser General: Laser Paladin, Laser Cannon.

  • GLA: anti-aircraft guns, PT Boats, GPS Scrambler support in AI.

  • China: Red Guard Rifle upgrade, Nuke Trucks, modular airfields, working Propaganda Centers.

  • Tank General: Super Overlords, Doublemasters.

  • Infantry General: Flame Troopers, Triple Barrel Inferno Cannons.

The Generals Challenge mode has also been expanded — 13 generals are now available, including a fully functional China Boss General in skirmish and multiplayer.

Reborn Omega includes a number of engine-level technical fixes. A long-standing diagonal movement bug has been corrected: in the original, units moved diagonally approximately 1.4 times faster than normal. System limits have also been expanded — the upgrade panel now holds 7 icons instead of 5, and the special ability quick-access panel now has 22 buttons instead of 11.

Quality of Life

  • Patrol Mode — units repeat a waypoint route (similar to TW/RA3), automatically attack enemies, and return to the route.

  • Extended Tooltips — build time, speed, detection range, power consumption, and much more displayed directly in the interface.

  • Selected Unit Tooltip — hovering over a portrait shows current HP, speed, and other stats in real time.

  • Rally Point Reset — a dedicated button to return the rally point to its default position.

  • Enhanced AI — improved skirmish AI with an upgrade system and smart GPS Scrambler logic.

WorldBuilder

The map editor has also been updated: windows are now resizable, script search functionality has been added, the Pre-Built Upgrades list has been restored, and CommandSetUpgrade behavior has been fixed.

How to install a mod Zero Hour - Reborn Omega

  1. You must have two versions of the game installed: Command & Conquer: Generals v1.08 and Zero Hour v1.04.

  2. Make a copy of the Zero Hour folder and place the contents of the Zero Hour Reborn Omega v1.00 folder into that copy.

  3. (Optional) Install the patch (if available) by moving its folder contents into the Zero Hour copy. Then launch the game using the executable that came with the patch.

  4. Launch the game using RebornOmega 1.00.exe. For optimal performance, select "Yes" in the dialog box "Run the game in borderless window mode?". This will help reduce lag and stuttering that commonly occur on modern systems.

  5. Play!
