Installation Instructions mod Lost in Darkness

1. You will need the GZDoom v4.11.3 engine (the mod won't run on newer versions).

2. Extract the archive and move the contents of the Lost in Darkness folder to the GZDoom root directory.

3. Create a text file for the correct mod file loading order. The loading order should be as follows:

  1. d2-in-d1-v3 (adds monsters and SSG from Doom 2 to Doom 1) (ALWAYS LOAD FIRST) (If you're playing Doom 2 or wads for it, don't use this addon or the game won't start)

  2. Lost in Darkness (main mod)

  3. Fix20x9 (fixes graphics for 20x9 aspect ratio)

  4. (Optional) gearbox-v0.7.2.1 (weapon and item selection wheel)

  5. (Optional) Universal Rain and Snow (weather effects, rain, snow, ash)

  6. (Optional) True dark (completely removes lighting from levels)

  7. (Optional) D64TEX (good textures)

  8. (Optional) LID_Shotgun skin (alternative shotgun skin)

To avoid typing this manually, you can use this template (you can use a different iwad), just keep in mind that mod file names may change over time due to version updates, so check them. Current for Lost in Darkness v2.1.29:

gzdoom -iwad "freedoom1.wad" -file "d2-in-d1-v3.pk3" "Lost in Darkness [2.1.29].pk3" "Fix20x9.pk3" "LID_Gearbox v0.7.2.pk3" "Universal Rain and Snow v3(GZD).pk3" "True dark.pk3" "D64TEX.PK3" "LID_Shotgun skin.pk3"

4. Next, rename the .txt text file to .bat, for example giving it the name Launcher.bat.

5. Play!
