Call Of Doom: Tarkov is primarily a weapons mod that carefully brings the aesthetics and feel of modern shooters to classic Doom, without turning it into a full-fledged tactical simulator. The core gameplay remains recognizable, but thanks to the new arsenal, reloading, recoil, and healing time, combat becomes more intense and varied.

The mod offers dozens and hundreds of weapon samples from different Call of Duty eras and Tarkov-like aesthetics. The guns feature quality sprites, realistic sounds, multiple fire modes, alternative ammunition, and in some cases the ability to dual-wield weapons. An important role is played by weapon rarity and the randomness of their appearance, making each playthrough feel fresh, even in familiar campaigns and megawads.

Call Of Doom: Tarkov supports different game modes and character classes, allowing you to customize difficulty: from limitations on carried weapons to modes with complete freedom of collecting. Weapon balance is calibrated so that even powerful guns require tactical use — long reload times or ammunition shortages easily punish mistakes.

The mod is stable, well-optimized for its scale, and compatible with most maps, megawads, and gameplay mods, including Brutal Doom and Project Brutality. This is not a total conversion, but a major weapons and gameplay mod that turns Doom into a dynamic looter-shooter with an emphasis on modern firearms and high replayability.

How to install a mod Call Of Doom Tarkov

This mod only supports GZDoom. If you run it with another engine, unexpected issues may occur. Additionally, this mod is intended for single-player. Multiplayer mode is not supported. This mod can be launched using Zandronum, but weapon graphics may display incorrectly.

This mod consists of 3 main files: File A, B and C. The game will launch when they are loaded in the correct order.

  • FileA is the core mod data. THIS FILE MUST BE LOADED FIRST.

  • FileB contains graphics data for weapons and other items.

  • FileC is the core data for weapon control.

The archive contains 3 FileA versions, you need to choose one of them:

  • Brutal DOOM v21

  • Brutal DOOM v22

  • Vanilla DOOM If you select two or three - the mod will not launch.

Also included in the archive is the Addon gearbox mini-mod. It adds a wheel for more convenient selection of weapons and items, which can be seen in some modern shooters.

Launching the game

To launch the mod you will need the GZDoom engine and as iwad one of the .wad files, you can use doom.wad, doom2.wad or .wad from the FreeDoom project.

  1. Place the .wad in the GZDoom engine folder

  2. Select 3 or 4 files (if you're interested in the Addon gearbox mini-mod) and move them to the GZDOOM engine folder

How to create a launcher for running GZDoom-based mods

Create a text file in the GZDoom folder, you can name it Launcher. The text can look like this, depending on which files you use. -iwad should always be first, and the number of files after -file can be unlimited, just write them in quotes separated by spaces, like this:

gzdoom.exe -iwad doom.wad -file "(001)_CodV_FileA_BrutalV22test4_FIX.pk3" "ZZD_CodV_FileB_Graphics.wad" "ZZD_CodV_FileC_MainData.wad" "(001)Addon_gearbox-0.7.3.pk3"

Change its format from .txt to .bat by simply renaming it. Now you can launch Call of DOOM:TARKOV via the Launcher.bat shortcut
